Woman-In-Meeting

Everyone loves a story – whether it’s a one-line joke, a piece of juicy gossip or a book that you just can’t put down. Humans have been telling stories since we started communicating with each other but what sort of stories do we tell about ourselves?

For the rest of the day, pay attention to the things you say, both to yourself (either in your head or out loud) and about yourself to others. How often do you say, I’ve always been useless at … or called yourself stupid – or worse? Make a list of all these things and looking at them in black and white, ask yourself ‘Is this really what I want my story to be?’

You have the power to change your story. I used to say that I got lost wherever I went – it was a huge joke but my expectation was that when I went somewhere new I would get lost, which I did. Now I say have satnav, will travel and I start journeys to new places with confidence.

What is your new story going to be, when will you change it and who will you tell?
